lost portion of "family types" dialog box- how do I get it back?

I'm not sure how I did it, I lost the side portion of the FAMILY TYPES dialog box, anyone know how to get it back? The attached image is pulled of the web, I drew a red box to show what is missing from my dialog box.

Here it is.

This is what the dialog box looks like in the most recent version of Revit. The former panel of buttons has been replaced by sets of small icons located on the upper right corner and lower left corner of the dialog box.

One of the recent updates reformatted the dialog box.

The buttons that used to be along the side (in a nice clear easy to find and understand manner) are now in the little icons along the bottom of the dialog box (which you have to mouse over to see what they are)...

Some programmer's idea of "better" I reckon...

If I make a parameter and forgot to check it as an instance parameter, how do I make the correction? How do I edit existing parameters on a family?

Just figured it out, in the programmers wisdom, they decided to make us go through one extra step to make a slight modification. Brilliant.

They probably had someone over their shoulder telling them to make the dialog boxes more "streamlined" and "Modern" (or pitched that as their own brilliant idea)...

I miss good old fashioned descriptive menus as well (over these giant space eating panels and the like), but heck, who am I? Just a day to day user that has to find stuff, not the guy selling stuff and saying "look how cool it is..."
