How to add the login name (edited by whom) into title block

Hi every, I am doing a project that is cooperated by several people. I want to add the name of  "last edited by" in the title block which should be automatically linked with the login name of the computer. This will help us identify who is responsible for which sheet. This can be done easily in CAD and I still cannot figure out how to do it in revit. It seems there is no parameter for this. I don't what to time in each time by creating a shared parameter. This should be done just like the "time stamp" and refresh automatically.

Thank you for help!

Welcome to the forum, Nancy.

Add a label to your titleblock, using the File Path property.

Note: the File Path does not really have a username parameter embedded. However, this works fine for the purpose, based on the fact that Revit adds the username to the local copy of central files. So, by the default, the name of the user is in the plot stamp for all the sheets that this user creates from his local copy.

Hi Alfredo, thanks for your advice. I think it is helpful. I am trying to add the sheet number just behind the file Path label. Is there anyway to make the label change size automatically so they can always stick together. I don't want the path be two lines. So now the label for path is really wide...But sometimes there will be a really big empty space between the "file path" and "sheet number".. Thank you

Then File Path can go after Sheet Number, considering that Sheet Number has a fixed length.

(However, the sheet number is already in the titleblock).

Hi Alfredo,

While this method works great for most workshared models, it no longer works when working on BIM 360 Teams/Documents when using Collaborate for Revit.

Any ideas on how to get that in there.

Revit has a user name variable.  I'd really like to be able to pull that data into title block.

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to add the sheet number as a second parameter in the same label. Just make sure to add a prefix, even if it is just a space or two, before the Sheet Number parameter, and it should move. Also, be sure to stretch the label out enough that it doesn't wrap on a long value.
