Location in the world

I am new to revit and I was asked at the office to start a new project. I went to location and all it gave me is a warning saying that the website may be blocked by my firewall, but I don’t have a firewall installed in my computer.

Do I have to click or check anything different to get to the maps?

… if the issue is not with the firewall in your pc

…. you need to contact the IT person in your office

…. and ask him/her to allow you to connect to that specific site from autodesk / REVIT.exe

Trying to specify a project location and the window is blank with the error, "Could not connect to Internet Mapping Service"

…. Causes:

The security setting are the Internet Options is too high.

The service could be temporarily down.

A proxy server might filter the request to access to the service

…. Solution:

Setting the security level for the internet to "Medium" should fix the issue.

Go to Windows Control Panel

Internet Options

Security

Security Level for This Zone.

…. If the first solution didn't helped and you're using a proxy server, check that the proxy server accepts requests from and to s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com:http.
