Linked Revit file - with imported DWG file - visible only in wireframe

I need to have a DWG detail visible in floor plans. I've read the best way to avoid polluting your Revit file is to import DWG into another Revit file, then link that one into your file. So DWG -> Revit -> Revit.

But the issue is, I can see it only when view is set to wireframe.

This is just a default floor, set to hidden:

Same thing in wireframe:

I tried to be smart and move the link up above the level, but that didn't help.

I'm not following. If it's only visible in Wireframe, this would indicate to me that there is some solid element above it. Not? Hmm?

Post the RVT and we'll take a look and see.

FWIW: The "pollution" you speak of, comes from exploding CAD in a Project. Exploding introduces a lot of "debris", so to speak, like Line Types, etc.  Imported CAD in general is not a problem and generally practiced.

That's what I thought, that's why I tried moving the link up a bit and adjusting the view range, but it doesn't help, still visible only in wireframe. Attaching the files, but they're just completely basic test files, created with default templates, so obviously it's some user error.

I see, then in this case I could just link dwg, but would still like to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Well, you have got a few things that need fixing.  First of all, I think you may have had Current View Only checked when you initially Linked in the DWG.  If you want the DWG visible in all Views, then DO NOT check Current View Only

Additionally, when you nest this RVT/DWG into another RVT, you need to turn on the DWG in the View via View Visibility/Graphics Overrides. Lastly, you need to set the View Range to capture the DWG in the View.

Turns out this was the issue. I do not want it visible in all views in "last" Revit file, but turns out it does have to be turned on in "first" one.

Solved, thank you.
