Linked model changes evertime when open

I work on MEP file and have to link the AR model (ARMasterfile.rvt) to my MEP file.

Previuosly, I I download AR file and saved on the folder path "xxxx\yyyy\2020-16-17\ARMasterfile.rvt".

At that time it worked fine to link AR model to MEP file.

But then the new AR model came and I saved it on a new path "xxxx\yyyy\2020-10-04\ARMasterfile.rvt"

I used "Reload from" AR model from the new file path and it seem to have no problem.

But then after I closed MEP file and opened it again in the next day, the linked AR path changed to the previous one which I dont want.

This occured everytime when I close and open my MEP file.

Is there anyway to make my revit file forget the old previous AR file path that I don't want ??

Keep changing paths is not a efficient way to manage links.

Create a folder for active links and link to Revit from that folder.  When you receive updated files, save them to that  folder overwriting old files.  Then the links in Revit update automatically when you open Revit, or when you Reload links.

If you want keep record of old link files then archive them to different folders with their date.

The principle is keeping the link names and paths static instead of reloading them from different files and folders everytime they are updated.

And no, I don't know why Revit falls back to the previous folder as you described because I never let myself be in such situation.

I've used the same process as you for years without having this problem, the only difference being that I would set the path to relative rather than absolute.

On my last project architectural and structural models were published weekly and each time I would save them in a dated folder as you have done and then "Reload from...". On another recent project we had an architect who liked to send a new file each day (sometimes twice a day) and wanted us to reload the latest accordingly.

@ToanDN 's advice is a good methodology to follow, but there is no reason why your own method should not also work but I suggest trying changing the path to relative so it will search for files locally within your project folder rather than looking at your whole server.

On my file I am unable to set link path to relative, perhaps because my file is cen to colaborating on cloud.

By the way I changed the system of file folder to work likely as previous advice adn it already work fine.
