Linked in model dissapears in views except 3d view after deleting its levels

Instead of having to create view templates for all our views and then turning off levels in the linked in revit model in each template, I discovered it would be easier to just delete the levels in the linked in model. I know that's a big no no but it didn't delete any objects. Now we can't see the linked in model in any views but the 3d view is fine. Why? Also if there is a way to turn off the levels of a linked in revit model throughout the project without having to use view templates please let me know.

Here's why - views are associated with levels. No level = View doesn't know what you want to see. And so it does absolutely nothing.

If they're on a Workset, they can be turned off with one click via the view template.

Create a common view template for similar views - for instance, one for existing, one for new construction, one for sections, etc.

Just noticed our sections still show the linked in model fine... I checked both vg settings and they are different even though they are both on "by host view" in basics. Don't know why that is so I made the plan view template custom and turned on all model categories. Still doesn't work...

How does one put a linked in revit model's levels on a workset and turn it off? The linked in model doesn't have collaborate turned on.

Who owns the linked model? Is it yours, or is it from a consultant? The reason why I ask is because if it's yours you can edit, if not you can't (or rather, shouldn't)

Unless someone has been super creative, levels and grids should be on the Shared Levels and Grids workset. It's worth a try.

Shared grids and levels was turned off to begin with so that didn't work. I also tried putting the levels on a workset like that link advises to and I couldn't see the workset in the main model so I just turned it off in the linked in model, but that didn't work either. What am I missing here. I'm doing all of this from the collaborate ribbon.

I finally figured it out thanks to moneyhunter's comment in the link I posted above. Have to go into the manage worksets of the manage link prompt after you've made the linked in revit model collaborate.
