Linked file shared coordinates disappear

Hi,

I'm currently working on a residential project where there is a lot of apartment repetition. Each apartment type is a linked file and there are loads of instances of each apartment type. To be able to edit the apartment type in context, we've got the main model also attached to the apartment. 

Each apartment type instance has got its position saved and coordinated back to the main model. The issue I face is that for some reason, at some point in the process of assigning shared coordinates to each apartment instance, there are some apartments that lose their shared coordinates. Everytime I assign coordinates to each instance, I make sure I save the changes back to the link. 

I've tried assigning coordinates again to those instances that had lost them (not all instances lose their coordinates), and at some point in the process they lose the coordinates again. Am I doint something wrong?

A bit of help would be really appreciated!

What do you mean they lose their shared coordinates?  You're Publishing coordinates for each Link location; right?  Is it the same Link placed multiple times in the Host?  

...Are you setting up Shared Positioning through the Shared Site dialog box?

Yes, I assign coordinates through the Shared Site dialog, I click on 'record current position as....', click on change and then duplicate the shared site to give an unique reference to the instance of the linked file. I have to do this because there are multiple instances of the same linked file. 

And as I said before, I always save the position back to the link.

Later on in the process, these apartment instances lose their shared coordinates: they remain on the same place, but on the Shared site dialog, they show as <Not Shared>.
