Linked CAD files showing jumbled linework

I have a CAD link that appears very jumbled when brought into Revit. I have other CAD files in the same Revit model that appear correctly. See attached images. The first is the CAD in the linked Revit file, the second is the original CAD. I have tried flattening, removing layers, exploding, and creating a block out of the CAD file. So far the same result everytime. Thoughts? Revit Link.PNGOriginal CAD.PNG

The lines in the cad file are too far from the 0,0,0 origin point in the modelspace which makes them go all wonky in revit. If you move the lines in the cad file to the origin it will display properly

Hi @lindsayabati

Please see Tips for Working with Project Base Points and Survey Points

  • Do a fresh clean up of your cad file (recommended before you link)
  1. Check for xrefs  and bind them to the drawing, using the Insert option to prevent redundant layers.
  2. Run SETBYLAYER. This command removes any color, linetype, or lineweight overrides from objects.
  3. Run PURGE. This command removes any unused layers, linetypes, blocks, and styles.
  4. Freeze any layers you don’t need.
  5. Save the Cad file and try linking it again in Revit.

This Revit Architecture tutorial below shows how to work with AutoCAD's DWG files using the Link CAD option.

Hope this helps.
