Link CAD function unresponsive

Ever since uninstalling AutoCad 2021 and installing 2024 I have been having issues with having the Link or Import CAD command to work on the ribbon.

When I press either, it is unresponsive.

If I go through manage links and press add- then the import/link cad window opens.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

Thanks

On my machine it doesn't work on 2023 which has the latest and greatest.

On my colleagues machine they have the latest on 2024 which it doesn't work in.

It does pop up on my 2024 though

It also doesn't allow me to import CAD into a family. It is just unresponsive.

So the Link/Import CAD buttons are completely dead?

Yes in my Revit 2023 and 2024- completely dead in project and in family.

Only way it works is if I press add in manage links

I also have this problem, but it is all of the Revit's on my machine 2020-2024
I can go to manage links and add link that way, but when i try the first time after opening Revit I get an error

Third party updater "Import Check" has experienced a problem and its action had to be canceled.

Once I click the Disable Updater button the Autocad file comes in.

I have also seen inconsistently that if I link in several ACAD files after I've disable the Updater  the Link Cad or import cad button begin to work. But like I said it is inconsistent, some times it fixes itself and some times it doesn't

While I haven't seen this for Link CAD, I have seen other cases where an add-on conflicted with Revit core functionality, and caused it to fail (like in the example above).  Have you tried disabling your add-ons one at a time to see if it works?

I was able to absolve the issue. When we uninstalled Autocad 2021, something happened. Not sure what. But that's when it started not to work. We had installed Autocad 2024 instead.

What I did was reinstall Cad 2021, and for reinstall Revit. I think the reinstallation of 2021 fixed the issue. That's just my guess, but it seems to have fixed it.

Going through the Add-in's was the trick.
I've found the offending add-in and removed it.

Thank you

And what was the Add-in, @Mathew.a.MIller? It may not be the same for all use cases, but helpful to know. Thanks!
