Linework tool in coarse view....no grips

Hi all,

I have modeled roof rafters, and want to use the linework tool for overbuilding areas (i.e. changing the line to be hidden for only a portion of the rafter).  I am trying to use the linework tool to accomplish this, however, the grips do not show to allow me to only apply this to a portion of the full rafter.

After playing around with it a while, I am able to get the grips to show if I change to a medium detail view, but not in coarse view.

Anyone have a similar issue?

See attached screenshot of what I am trying to accomplish....I am currently accomplishing this by using the linework tool to turn the entire joist to a dashed line, then coming back with a detail line to redraw the solid portion.

Grips will not display in the coarse view for the structural framing. I'd suggest 'show hidden lines' tool instead of 'linework'.

What version are you using? I can do it in 2017.

Thanks for the video.  I did not see the grips in your demo either.  I am able to get the linework tool to change the full rafter length, but the grips are not available to drag the new linework to only a portion of the line.  I am able to do it in medium view but not coarse.

I am not seeing the extent controls with this wall element. No luck in medium or fine mode. Any updates on why some elements do not display these extends? (This make the linework tool non-effective on these elements)

I am not getting any extents when using the linework tool in this view. It is a section view.
