lines deleted after exploding CAD

Hi Everyone,

i am trying to import some details form a CAD file in a drafting view and then explode them. Unfortunately revit is automatically deleting some lines ("lines too short") after exploding, simplifing way too much my drawing. It there any way to avoid it?

thanks in advance. Smiley Happy

Rule number 1 for Revit is: don't explode CAD

Rule number 2 for Revit is: look at rule number 1

The best way is to draw it with native Revit components. Or if you are on a very tight schedule, link CAD files.

Exploding creates a terrible mess in Revit. So therefore it is not recommended.

Most likely it's that your imported lines are 'too short', so it deletes the elements that don't meet the min. quota of I believe 1/32".  If you MUST import... scale in whichever CAD program you are using to 'full scale' then import.

Old post but in case anyone turns up here looking (like me) ....

I import and explode dxf files with property lines for residential projects, they're simple small files that I haven't noticed resulting in file bloat.

Sometimes the scaling reference line I'd like to use is too short to scale (Revit won't let me) so I just scale it manually up to something bigger then explode and scale it again (but accurately this time).

Works well for me, no line loss and no need to fire up Autocad.
