Line Based Family

Hello

I am trying to create a family with sides that can either extent further than the end of the main or be Shorter than the main.  The extensions are easy.  But to make the sides be shorter than the main, they need to be a negative number.  It seem some parameters are able to do negative numbers and other not.  How can I control the movement that goes beyond the origin in the negative direction?  Revit currently is just not allowing it.  If I just try it once the family is made, Revit wants to delete the instance of the family.

Doable. Share the family.

You cannot. But what you can do is set up, through formulas, the offset a dimension-driven reference place moves in relationship to "zero" point.
