Hello,
I am attempting to do a lighting analysis of a small private subdivision regarding the street lights in the area. I have inserted the CAD layout in the model and have put the light poles in that I think are appropriate. But when I go to the lighting analysis button I get an error saying "The analysis grid plane location is based on floor locations. There are no floors in you model. Analysis will be canceled. What do I need to do?

Model a floor so it can calculate then hide it if you don't need to show in the drawings.
I use a plugin called elum tools that works very well, also for exterior lighting. i haven't used the newer oob Revit lighting calcs, but assume they are focused of building light. If you don't have a building, and design in CAD (civil Design??), a different non-Revit software may be better. Revit is great, for building things. Outside buildings, there may be better tools.
