I have a legend view that seems to be cropped to an invisible crop region that I can't turn on or edit - when I move a legend component beyond a certain point it stops being visible - how can I change this ?

Legends don't have a crop region. What if you type ZA (Zoom All)?

@Simon_Weel ..... i know it shouldn't but this one does. nothing outside the red box is visible. zoom all zooms to the extents of the all the elements including the ones beyond the red box

Is your model close to the Revit internal origin? Is there a masking region in the view (shouldn't mask a RP tho).

Hi @phil.sheridan ,

By any change, is there a scopebox set for the referenceplanes?

I can attach one in a legend but in R2022 the whole referenceplane disappears, maybe with a just correct scopebox placed in the model it could look as that?

@TripleM-Dev.net  no they were new refplanes I drew just to see what happened when I went beyond the invisible crop region.
Legend views don't have the option to set a scope box, though.
Other things i copy to outside of the crop region disappear are not selectable with a crossing window but still affect the count of elements when i do "select all instances in model including legends"

@SteveKStafford
It's fairly close I think but that shouldn't affect a legend anyway?
I've made a new legend and copied the content and that one works fine. I'm just baffled as to why this one is behaving that way.

Hi @phil.sheridan ,

I meant scopebox attached to the reference plane itself not the legend.

Uhm nevermind reference planes look different from you're screenshot when a scopebox is attached, the screenshot represents a referenceplane of a cropped view where the reference plane ends (2D and 3D) have been altered.

Could it be a plugin that did anything (on a rare occasion the API can do something that can't be undone in the UI)

Yes, I can crop a Legend in the API (it shouldn't allow that!), can't make the cropline visible

See sample below!

Hi @phil.sheridan,

Maybe somebody else who works on the projects has such addin or Dynamo script....?

It's a Bug, the API should have thrown a error or not allowed message when attempting to crop a legend.

Unfortunately it can't be undone in the UI, you would need a addin (or dynamo) to undo that.

Is it a re-occuring thing that legends become cropped or was it just the one?

If it's just the one, re-created it and delete it.
