Label matching project information

Good afternoon dear Mentors.

I created a single file where I can manage 7 projects at the same time. When you open my title block family looks like this:

As you can see there is a lot of overlapping texts, lines, labels and annotation images controlled by visibility in order to obtain different title blocks for cover sheets, floor plans, electric, plumbing, etc.

I had to create 7 groups of shared parameters gathered in the project information looking like this:

For the other hand, I created an annotation family to be placed in my site plans, this annotation have 7 overlapping labels (controlled by visibility yes/no) with the shared parameters "project 1 start date", "project 2 start date"... up to 7, this annotation family is a different file from my title block.

I want please to know what is the formula that I have to apply in order to get the same from project information like this:

any suggestions please?

Thank you very much

I am working on my NCARB towards my California Architect License,
if you think you can help me to complete my AXP, please let me know, I will really appreciate it. Thank you & Stay Wealthy, Happy, Healthy and Safe 🙂

@yes_and_no , @mhiserZFHXS , @ToanDN , @RobDraw , @barthbradley :

That easier way is more difficult for me ‌‌. I used to do that and it was tricky to figure out whether to answer “new only” or “overwrite” for the Project info transferred from old projects, most of the times I used to make a total mess, Cntrl + Z…

Let's suppose I make 1 blank project, I create the Project information template by adding new Project parameters either like Project Parameter or from the shared parameters file, I copy this file 6 more times to get 7… I have to open 7 files to fill out Project information…

If one or two new parameters are needed to be added, like owner´s sister name + General Contractor´s mother-in-law´s cats colors (just to say something), I need to open again 7 files to add these new project parameters (most of them are not shared) or import them from the shared parameter file.

Additionally, I have to create a Master Central Model where the 7 outdated files are, that is a total of 8… and then, in order to update the Central, I need to open 7 more, transfer new project information, choose, new only or overwrite the cats colors and the sister name…

For the other hand, If I need to update my over engineered title block, to add the color of the cats and the sister name of my client, I will also need to open 8 files so that the “Overwrite the existing version” takes forever 8 times (Forever means like 5 minutes per file = 40 minutes, almost 1 hour).

From the very beginning, with just a few information in my Title block, with a decent computer, it also took forever to overwrite (30 seconds or 1 minute it's an eternity for me) …

******************

That's why I had to over engineer my Title Block and Switch on/off information instead of create a project template to delete information that I do not need or copying again from old files.

It's easy for you because you are more experienced, I am a beginner, I only started in 2016. Parametric labels and families are really new for me, my knowledge is based on Architectural design, programming engineering it's not my field, I started back in 2019 designing my unique Title block, my Unique Paper-Model File for 7 external or internal models, now I only have to wait 4-5 minutes for my updated Title block to load… As soon as I upgrade my graphic card-RAM, things will change.

At this point, I think I will not need to open this overengineered Title block family again, it contains enough information for the kind of projects I develop.

As soon as I get my NCARB & my Architect License, big projects I will do, big dreams will be real and undoubtedly, I will hire you guys to helping me out with design, document and draft.

I am sharing with you all my crazy unique model & my Shared parameter file, to be analyzed in your lab like the most weird specimen (lol) just follow the link.

There are several ways to go to Rome, you are taking the freeways and airplanes, I am riding my horse...

regards.

Keep dreaming. Those load times will give you plenty of opportunities.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Your reasoning doesn't make a bit of sense.  Because you are "a beginner, only started in 2016.  Parametric labels and families are really new for me..." so you chose to even have 6 more times of labels to deal with.

By the way, 2016 is 9 years ago.  I had my unpaid intern updating titleblock and print without a hiccup.  She had two weeks of Revit experience.

@yes_and_no  please do not call me stupid, I have been respectful with everyone. If I don't have the capability to understand or to learn or having your highest IQ it does not mean that I am so, please respect.

@ToanDN , @RobDraw , @mhiserZFHXS , @barthbradley , I will keep on dreaming, you guys do not need to laugh about me.

please do not bother to respond, this is my last message. thx

No one should be throwing around insults, this one especially.

I'm not even talking about all of the specific project info. I am talking about the fact that you have things loaded in your title block that only apply to single sheets in your projects. That is adding an immense amount of data unnecessarily, and that's one of the reasons your block takes so long to update. Take all of that junk off the title block family, and just add it project.

Instead of making bold claims, like we're all going to be working for you some day, take your blinders off and realize there is a reason no one else manages projects like this. Its all fine and good to try new things and innovate, but when it doesn't work, and people are telling you why it doesn't work, its time to reassess.
