Keynoting Different Items inside a Family File, Seperately?

Hey Guys,

Quick one for you....

-You have a family file with different items in it. Lets say a table with chair, and a screen.

You load this family into your current project, and the keynote picks up every item as a whole and assigns only 1 keynote abbreviation to it.

Is there a way of assigning separate keynote abbreviations to each of those items separately? and maintaining all items in the same family file?

Thanks In advanced.

Edit each nested family and set them to Shared.  Then in project you can TAB to pick each one when keynoting them.

Awesome mate thanks for that...It worked for the Nested Families part.

What about if the family file was made from items that are not nested? Say a desk family with a non nested extruded privacy screen? The privacy screen would be extruded casework.???

I'm guessing I might need to delete the screen and nest that as a separate family file as well right?

Thanks but a disappointing solution?

If shared option checked:

"Shared family types cannot have properties driven by parameters of the host family. Parameter associations will be removed.....blablablabla etc etc

defeats the purpose of nesting the families..
