Join family geometry with wall geometry

Hi,

I am looking for a solution for the following situation: I modelled a window family which contains geometry (extrusions) that should merge with the window-containing wall (without a joint). Is there a possibility to join the family geometry with the wall?

Best regards

Ben

If you use curtain walls, you can insert a wall panel into the grids.

I'm not sure what you mean though, by merging the window with the wall.  Any images?

It's a standard wall, for example concrete. In the familiy I am modelling a support (in this example concrete, too) that should merge with the surrounding wall. The other option would be to create voids that cut the wall geometry to get the result but I thought it would be easier to make a huge opening in the wall and add geometry (in the familiy) since there are elements that overlap the actual window.Clipboard01.jpg

Maybe I didn't get the question, but just draw a wall?

Create the geometry as architectural column family, set to shared, nest it in the window family.
