Job Roles for Certified Revit Architecture Professional

I have been searching for Job Roles available for Certified Professional which are more of a managerial role.

Kindly share your inputs.

Obtaining the professional certification on Revit Architecture just proofs a good level of proficiency in Revit Architecture. No more than that. It does not give qualify you for "managerial roles" as you say. Manage what exactly? If you are referring to managing a project, you need a different set of skills, experience, knowledge, education, certifications, to be considered as a project manager.

You know, @Alfredo_Medina is right: the term "Managerial Position" is rather nuanced. What would you like to be doing exactly? Create that job and sell it. Be entrepreneurial.

yes that i know, but I am also an MBA in Construction Project Management and I pursued BIM in my coursework,

but the time i started looking for jobs in the field of BIM, almost all of them are for Modeling and that doesn't require MBA. I am not disrespecting anyone or any profession, but i want a job profile where my education can be used,

           "BIM managers" I know, but there also experience is needed.

I live in India, but any location is fine with me, i will be exposed to various sets of skills everywhere that will actually add to my experience

Around here, it would be difficult to find a managerial position without any real world experience.

Notice that in your first message, both in the title of the post and in your signature, you described yourself as a Revit Architecture Certified Professional looking for a managerial role. 

Only in your second message, you said that you have an MBA in Construction Management. 

If you have an MBA, most likely you have a bachelor's degree in a profession that is related to architecture and engineering, which you have not said yet. Probably you will say that in your next message. 

I am just saying this to make you realize that if you are looking for a job as a manager, maybe you need to introduce yourself as a person with a master in business administration because that is your highest level of education. Then probably you need to mention that you also have formal education and experience as an architect or engineer. Then, in third place, you can mention that in addition to all of the above you are also proficient on a software tool such as Revit Architecture. That sequence and hierarchy in the information conveys a more appropriate message about what you are and what you are looking for.

Yes, I understood your point and will remember it, but I was just asking a question here like everyone else do. I just wanted to know if there are any roles with that specifications and I was not asking for a job here as such.

     One more thing, for the past 15-20 days i am very depressed because I gave my all in learning Revit and BIM and kind of ignored other things because I love doing it, but then I faced the reality in job market, I felt like I wasted almost a year.

    But the I more say/clarify anything, the more rude your replies will be. So I will leave it at this point

Woah woah calm down there champ!  If you are already offended by the replies on a public forum (they are quite tamed IMHO), then you would have bad time stay sane in the real world.

To be honest, an Autodesk Certified Professional for Revit Architecture does not carry a lot of weight.  If you are looking for a managerial role, you need years of working experiences in a professional environment.  The Master degree in CM + any other diplomas can only help you get in there more easily.  And the Autodesk Certified Professional for Revit Architecture maybe the icing on the cake, at best, if you can get the cake.  Then you work from there and build yourself up to become a manager.  

But first, grow a thicker skin and you will be much happier.

@shubham_shri  I wanna share my experience with you cause i felt the same when I was on master studies. I was around 22-23 years old. That was the period when I started waking up. I finally started to pay attention to society around me, the conditions- the reality. The thing is, until that time I didn't have much information about it anyway... Probably, there are young people who start paying attention to these things even earlier, but definitively there are some who are simply lucky to have a good teacher- someone to provide a good starting info. It also depends on where you live (the country)... In some countries, the information about local market values is deliberately being hidden from young people.

Regardless of conditions, I never gave up my profession and continued developing skills. Eventually, I end up working in outsourcing groups and I'm absolutely fine with it. The World is huge and nobody can fully control it, which is good news for you. 

Keep developing and never give up! If your field is construction, go with it!

@shubham_shri shoot for Project Management positions. Most architectural firms work with BIM and Revit - so your Revit credentials may be viewed as a helpful asset. The other option would be to start at the bottom as a BIM Specialist, and work your way up to a BIM Manager position. It's going to take some struggle, and possibly not the kind of BIM involvement that you seem to want, but you're not going to get everything that you want right out of the door.

I was reading through this thread, it's been a while so I was just checking back.

Just a note on diverse career paths based on your interests and opportunities that come your way :

Architect role:

The way up often starts with a design role - Architectural designer, Design Architect, Project Architect - gain your IDP hours, write the license exam, register through NCARB and become a licensed architect based on the state you live in or get a job in.

BIM role:

Architectural designer/ CAD Designer/ Drafter

Progress to BIM Coordinator

BIM Manager

Senior BIM Manager

Construction Mangement Director

Digital Manager Role:

A combination of one of the above + a masters in the related field

BIM/ Visualization expert

Digital Design manager (Check companies like Gensler, AECOM etc)

M&E path (Media and Entertainment path)

Architectural visualization specialist

Background artist

Rendering artist

3D modeler

Visualization team lead

Design Manager -Animation

Teaching Roles

Design instructor, Revit instructor. etc

Note: Different companies have different description/title for roles, based on international experience and skills and what you can bring to the table.

I am a BIM Architecture fresher working at a firm in India for 4 months. I was thinking to get Autodesk Certified professional for Revit architecture. Is it going to be beneficial??
