Jagged shadow of beams and columns within wall

Hi all,

I am having this issue of a jagged shadow showing up in my set camera views. (Attached photo)

The jagged shadows seem to be of the beams and columns which are hidden within the wall, thus making me very puzzled. As you can see when the shadow is turned off (Attached photo), the wall seems to be perfectly fine.

A quick note to my model:

- The problematic wall is a curved wall with openings for entrance and balcony.

- All the beams and columns are being joined with the curved wall and is showing fine in all other drawings.

I'm sorry that I can't provide any model for your references as it is confidential, but I will try to answer all question regarding to this model.

Any suggestion is much appreciated, thanks!

Do you have any CAD link to the model?

If you can't share the file it's just a silly guessing game.

I have no idea if this guess applies here, but did you know that Masking Regions in Families can cast Shadows in the Project?

Nope no CAD linked. It still occurs even when all linked models are unloaded.

Thanks for trying, if the Masking Region you mentioned is the one in Annotation, then no I do not have them in my structure.

Here I have exported the problematic elements as a project file, if you orbit around with the 3D view you will start to see the nasty jagged shadows.

I tested the model. If you have the beam, it will glitch out. When I turn off the Structural framing, it goes back to normal.

Well I know it is probably one of these elements that is causing the glitch, but hiding it doesn't really solve the problem? (Although it might look okay on the exterior, but it would be so wrong if I were to cut it with section box)

Thanks for trying anyway.

Section box have no issue with the beam. When I cut, the shadow seems to be normal. It only occurs when you set them to see all. Your other alternative would be to split the beam into different section from column to column. If you don't want to do that, then just turn the beam off when you show all.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Do you reckon that it is the curved beam that has caused the glitch? I think I made the curved beam by picking the grid line so I'm not sure what exactly went wrong.

Do you have a better/recommended workflow to create a curved wall/beam or the graphic issue simply exists?

(Because I have another building with curved wall and has the same glitch problem as well)

I use floor to replace the concrete beam. That seems to help with the shadow glitch. So floor maybe your alternative to beam
