There are several options:

- You can still use the Revision cloud tool to craw the graphic if you like.  If your official Revisions are numeric then you can add a new Revision with its numbering set to 'none' or 'alphabet' in order to filter it out from the Revision schedule.

- Create a repeating detail component to draw the cloud-like graphic.

- Create a line based detail family arraying an arc module to draw the cloud-like graphic

Thanks ToanDN,

I have to ask how you can filter out a Revision of a Revision Schedule though. It seems not possible for me.

You cannot. What i meant was set the sorting grouping to unimtemized, sort by revision number, then all the non numbered revisions will collapse into one blank row.

I just came across a post that answers this question. http://revitscratchpad.blogspot.com/2011/05/fake-revision-clouds-in-revit.html

First use the revision cloud tool to create the shape you want. But before closing the revision cloud tool, select and copy (Ctrl-C) the cloud geometry. Then click the X to close without saving. Now you can Paste-Aligned and the cloud is created as detail lines. Clever, no?

I tried to make a filled region the same way but it didn't work for me. Pasting the cloud geometry only shows as a rectangle. Maybe someone has a suggestion?

Hope this helps,

Bill

Why can't you?  Create a new line type, change its color to red, and assign it to the pasted cloud lines.

Not possible. For whatever reason those pasted lines are not changeable. Wish they were.

To edit the color go into Line Styles and look for <Thin Lines> can edit Line Weight, Color and Pattern. Just check you are not using this line style in any part of Revit like lines used in schedules.

You can change it with graphics override in that sheet or view - as its an annotation object and not a model object changing it in the view is easy and useful - highlight it and right click to override graphics and select it how you want it - totally fixed

That's fine for one but how about for all the future ones?

My fixes will often be hacks 🙂 - as this was a convoluted work around from the start anyway!

I think your description is a bit generous.

In the absence of an annotation cloud, a few easy extra steps isn't very convoluted.
