Issue with create parts

I have encountered a strange problem in Revit. I have made a 2 min youtube video showcasing and explaing the problem after a lot of testing:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwaewNCDgiU

If there are any questions needed to be answered for finding the solution let me know. If you know the solution I would be grateful.

What does the error message say?

"Can't make Parts out of these Elements. Parts were deleted."?

If so, it's working correctly. SOME Parts couldn't be created.  It makes sense to me  if you have an integrated Wall Sweep that is not able to be created because of the height of the Wall.

That's indeed what it says.

So, the Wall Sweep  integrated into the Wall Type cannot be included in Parts because it's not there due to the Height of the Wall.   You probably had another error thrown upon placing the Wall or lowering the unconstrained height of the Wall.

I didn't get any error messages nor notifications when placing or lowering a wall to the height that it only has 1 active layer. Only got one when trying out *create parts* when it isn't completely parallel towards the X-axis.

Are you saying that NO PARTS were created for that Wall?

Can you post your test RVT so I can examine it?

Just post the RVT here directly as an Attachment.

The drawing has a lot of random elements for testing the exportation software. Those 2 walls are in the lower right corner :).

I see what's going on and how to mitigate.  190mm unconnected height = the height of the Split Region. Merge the Split Regions and problem disappears.   Basically, it's the wrong Wall Type for that condition (e.g. a 190mm tall wall).

I see. But any idea how I can create a wall type which always has another material for the first 19cm and use it in this cenario where only the 1 layer is "active" due to height? And why does it still work when it's parallel with the X-Axis?

Use stacked walls and break up when you need to create parts.

I am afraid that I am not familiar with stacked walls. (I am beginner with Revit). But I shall look it up and try it out 🙂
