Issue when creating ceilings

Hi, I have a homework asking me to place the light fixture on the ceilings. and this is when I created the ceilings. I don't know why they are in the half-cut of my floor. All I have done is clicking the ceiling function on the top bar and then choose the room I wish to have my ceilings. Could someone explain why they exist like that and how I fix it?

Thanks you so much 231.PNG

You may want to create the ceiling via Sketch instead of using the Automatic Ceiling option.

Sketch ceiling.png

Depending on how your walls and ceiling are made, the Automatic Ceiling option appears to have placed the ceiling's boundaries on the outside edges of your walls rather than the inside edges. When you sketch the ceilings, you can select the inside faces of the walls as the ceiling's boundaries.

Also, I advise you create ceilings in Reflected Ceiling Plan views so you can see the ceiling after you finish the sketch.

See this page on the Help file for more info on ceilings:

Try using the Join tool to join the floor element with the wall element.
