Offset From Host issues

Hi!  I’m wondering if anyone can help me figure how to offset a mattress. I’m currently building some cubbies for a hostel and for some reason Revit will not let me offset my mattress to put in my cubbies.

It’s just the regular twin standard bed 38”x75. I removed the box spring and legs because I just needed the mattress.

Try checking "Work Plane-Based" and unchecking "Always Vertical" in Family.  When you place instance in Project, pay attention to the placement options on the Contextual Tab.

Unfortunately that still didn’t work. It didn’t give me an option to offset it from host.

Host it to a NAMED Reference Plane and move the Reference Plane in Elevation.

...or build an OFFSET/Parameter in the Family itself

Thank you! That didn’t work either so I just used mass to make a box and I went from there. Thank you though!

Mass??? Wow!  You are on a different planet now. Ha!

It works the way I described. You just didn't follow my instructions.  Want me to repeat them, or are you happy with your interstellar workaround?
