Issue - Material Hatch in arched surfaces

Hi,

I'm experiencing graphics issues in my 3D views where material surface pattern is very off and looks detached from the surface. This happen more frequent with arched surfaces/planes. I've tried the following measured as part of the elimination process:

- changing the family construction from in-place model to component family and system family

- turning on and off the hardware acceleration options

- cleaning the model with truncated CAD links

As reference, I'm providing here the screenshot of the issue and the specification of my workstation.

Weird indeed? Could you by chance upload the family? And have you checked for an new graphics driver?

Hi Simon,

Thank you for the reply. This issue happens to both System and Component Families. Before I thought that this was due to the element being an in-place model but when I tried converting it to a component family or constructing using system family walls, the problem still persists. The graphics card upgrade might be the solution. Mine has its graphics driver updated to no avail.

Is this 2023? Do you have the latest update installed?

Looks to me like a corrupted 3D view.  It happened frequently to us when updating Projects - with Shaded Views - to the first build of 2023.  Less so now.

BTW, what operating system? Win 11 or 10?

This is Revit 2021. Windows 10. This occurs to multiple 3D views and even in Elevation/Section views. I noticed that this only occurs to surfaces with bigger arch radius. Here's the image comparing the problematic surface adjacent to other surfaces with smaller setout radius

Help me out here. I'm not clear what I'm supposed to see in this screenshot.  Frankly, I see nothing wrong - other than maybe I'd Miter the corner returns of the Pilasters.

Here's a side-by-side views of 3D and plan showing the difference in radius of the surfaces. The higher the radius the more prominent the issue in the pattern.

Sadly, I can't do that. I would like to actually, but we're bound by a confidentiality clause about sharing the client's model to any platforms. Really appreciate your intention to help 🙂

What is the radius that starts causing the issue?

Revit 2021. Tried to replicate it by creating an in-place Wall model, with a curvature of 35 meters and a brick pattern:

No problems...  I guess you already performed an Audit on the project?

I forgot to mention in my post that the issue happened gradually. It's ok the first time we created the elements then it the pattern slowly moves off from the surface after a couple of days. It can be temporarily resolved by nudging the element back and forth, but it will slowly go back to its issue.

Here's the sample image showing slight difference on how the pattern is shown before and after being slightly moved.

We're doing the audit every monday before the start of the working week.

No issue here.

Can you save a copy, delete everything except one wall that has the problem, purge, and upload it?

Sure I'll do it. Can you save it and try reopening every day for at least a week and see if there's an issue? Ours didn't happen overnight but after a couple of weeks working on the file.

I'll try removing all signatures or client thumbprints in our file before uploading.
