Is there a way to MERGE LEVEL to another Level?

We have a new project that had 2 existing houses on the site and we made each house there own project with own levels. Later we were forced to incorporate our design with one of the existing houses and use it. We had JUST linked both houses into the main project and now had to bind one existing house so we could remodel some of the interior and connect it to our main project.

I want to get rid of several existing levels that are not needed but have alot of object attached to them. Is there a way to MERGE one level to another? I don't want to pick thru bottom & top constraints to manually change all the object info and all the furniture, lights, ceilings every little thing! Otherwise I run the risk of deleting a level and losing something and not knowing what it was that was deleted!

Thanks

There is no way I am aware of to "merge" objects from one level onto another, similar to "merging" worksets. Due to the multitude of ways objects can be created with respect to levels, I do not know if it is possible.

Another easy way would be able to filter your selection by level it is placed on!

You get some one who I will not name names but they add like over 20 bogus level and people are attaching some to it because they do not know what they are doing and weeks go by and I get back on the project and have this mess to find everything and get rid of these levels!

Thanks

At least I get paid by the hour!

The best method for doing this is to create a 3d wireframe view.  Rotate view as required to get a good visual selections method.  Heights of doors for instance must be just right. Slice the views from the levels of one floor to another.  Make selections within this view. List all the components between the levels.  Filter a group based on the type of hosting.  Repeat as required for each hosted compenents.

Not easy but it works the best.

One more note on this all-important 3d wireframe is to look at any highlights in the model that changes color when an old level is removed, and of course, the warning messages.

One problem with this idea is that wall openings can not be selected, or filtered but are level hosted.  They will be removed when a level is deleted so you must find then select them individually.   The base and top constraints must both be assigned.

A bad thing about this process is that rooms are assigned by the view they were placed in.  To fix this problem in a lot of cases is to remove the room and its tag and assign new rooms with a good view with the right naming.

There is a forum for feature requests, IDEAS.

You may want to look at what is causing this need for you and find a different workflow to prevent it.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

You could try DiRoots OneFilter which let you select elements by level. But it's tricky at best and you'll probably get a lot of warnings and errors. I agree a 'merge level' thing could come in very handy at times.

Found the following existing idea that is similar to the requested feature (which you can vote up): Ability to Rehost Elements before Deleting a Level

In the meantime, you could use the DiRoots OneFilter (as mentioned by @Simon_Weel), or look at using Dynamo to make this change: Change level assignment without moving the element.
