Every time I make interior elevations I have to draw a rectangle border to frame my interior elevations. Is there any way to do it automatically?

Short answer, no.

Long answer, do you really need to create the masking border for anything besides aesthetics?  We've gradually gotten used to cropping just outside the room boundaries.  The drawing is no less correct or informative for showing additional info.

I settled on this style... crop the interior elevation view just outside the space, and have my INT-ELEV view template set to that every possible category in VG has a solid black fill cut pattern. Works for me.

You can do this automatically quite easily.

In print settings under 'Print Setup' there is a check box 'Hide Crop Boundaries'

With this unchecked, your crop boundaries will print if visible. You control crop visibility by either selecting a view on a sheet and uncheck the 'Crop Region Visible' box for the view. The other easy way is when the view is open (or activated on a sheet), click the 'Hide/Show Crop Region' icon (bottom left of main view window, crop symbol with a lightbulb).

Hope this helps.

I used a combination of making crop regions visible on printing check box and hiding crop regions on the ones I wanted it did just what I wanted it to do.

Thanks!!

Did you mean 1-click update of the outlines for interior elevations like in this demo?
