I have a toposurface and a footprint family. The toposurface is supposed to be something like snow, and i'm planning on arraying the footprint about a spline later on (where the prints would alternate between the left and right feet, like actual tracks in the snow). Each footprint is attached with a void form at the moment because I was hoping to cut indents into the toposurface by a certain amount for each footprint (like when your shoe sinks into the snow). But void forms do not seem to cut toposurfaces, and I can't find a building pad function to build in to the footprint family. I would like to make this project as parametric as possible, so placing the building pads by hand is a no go. How may I go about this?

Go to your foot print family. Copy the boundary of the geometry. Take a fresh void base Family template. Take extrusion void form and create your family. Give the cut comman to the void and the host in the family. Select the option  it with void when loaded jn properties tab and load this family in the toposurface project. It will cut

Accept the solution if it works

I'm currently using Revit 2023, so my Toposurface can only be cut by a building pad, and not a void mass. I have tried and understood the approach of using void families to cut holes through solids such as for stoves on kitchen counter tops and light fixtures on ceilings, but I can't seem to apply the same workflow for an element as special as a Toposurface in Revit 2023.

@1006923CPBJD Its gud to hear that you are familiar with those terms. can you give it a try and tell me whether you have gone through.

if i was able to help pls select resolve.

No.  a toposurface can only be cut by building pads, and building pads cannot be created in a family environment.  Either array the building pad directly in the project, or upgrade the model to a version that supports toposolids.

By the way, what is the purpose of showing footprints in your model?  Are they actual sized shoeprints?
