Is there a calculator in revit?

is there a way to make quick calculations of numbers etc in revit rather than always having to open the windows calculator app for calculations ?

You can enter a formula directly in a dimension string, for an instance.

You can totally do long addition too....so 8+6+7+5+3+0+9 will give you 39. 😛

=200' /18" when modifying a dimension...

If you are looking for a little calculator button that pops up a calculator like in Windows, then no, it doesn't have one.  Keep a shortcut in your taskbar if  you need a separate calculator app.

i wasnt trying to put in any dimension i just want to know/or calculate a feet and inches question... basic windows calculator (to my knowledge) doesn't do feet and inches, and the free calculator from windows, that does, kinda sucks. Acads works nicely... thought autodesk would put it in revit, seems it would be easy to do..

I'm sure someone can do better....but this took a minute or two...

Oh...and Autocad is a totally different UI than Revit.  So if Revit was to have a calculator button it would probably just popup the Windows version.

Unless you're still on Windows XP, the Windows calculator does conversions. 😄
Click on the little lines at the top left, and there you have all kinds of calculators.

The Google search engine does this too if you type it directly.

And if you want something even faster, PowerToy for Windows has "Power Toys Run", with which, among other things, can do quick calculations by pressing "alt+Spacebar"
