Is it possible to create a Schedule column field that calculates using values from a column field from another schedule?

Good morning.

I am finding myself with the need of creating a column field in a schedule that takes values from another schedule to make a calculation, in a process that should work similarly to the Vlookup formula in the Sheets environment.

Let's say that in schedule 1 I have the following:

Type number       Type name

1                             A

2                             B

3                             C

and in schedule 2 I have:

Type name            Rooms

A                             3

B                             2

C                             1

Would it be possible to have the schedule 1 with a calculated column field called "Rooms" ending up like this?

Type number       Type name          Rooms

1                             A                          3

2                             B                          2

3                             C                          1

I am aware that the example is simple as I could create the "Rooms" parameter to the Type and make it appear in the the first schedule, but I would like to know whether this approach is possible for more complex "vlookup" situations.

Thanks so much

Revit schedules do not support anything similar to a VLOOKUP function. Everything you reference or calculate has to be in the schedule.

I don't understand why you need the Rooms column to be copied from another schedule or a new parameter, however. If you have it working in Schedule 2, simply add the same column/parameter to Schedule 1. You did say this was a sample, so maybe something more "real" would help explain it better.

Thanks for your answer.
It was for the sake of giving an example.

What sort of calculation? If you want one value drives other values then look into key schedule.

Definitely using key schedule.

Hard to know what would work for you, given your hypothetical, but Embedded Schedules come to my mind as another possible means to get there - where ever "there" is.
