is it possible to change default rooms colours?

Hi there.

We would like to know how to change the default colours used by revit when creating colour schemes and replace them with the office palette.  Currently, we constantly have to override every newly created room/area colour and that's very time consuming. In simple terms, we want to control the colours that revit uses by default. Is this possible? If yes, where is the index of colours and how can it be modified?

Create a new Template (RTE)  that has different Default Colors set.

Right now you cannot change the default colors assigned to schemes. The workaround is create a template with schemes and colors of your choices and transfer to you working projects.
