International or AIA standards for Architectural, Structural and MEP in REVIT?

I've been creating standard template files for a client lately and I was wondering whether there is a standard for the items that I am creating?  It seems most firms have their own standard.  I remember when CAD was just becoming ubiquitous that I believe there was an AIA layering standard that become the one most people used.  Is there something similar for Revit families?   For example callout, sections, Interior and Exterior elevation markers and a like.

None that I've heard off. Maybe due to the fact that the Revit Concept is not yet wide spread 

But considering AIA CAD Layer Guidelines (Similar to other International Standards) was developed to help organize layers for layer based CAD software; While Revit is not really a layer base, it still supports the option of exporting models to CAD using standards such as  AIA, ISO, BS1192, CP83.

Revit is a category based program.  AIA and other layer standards are not applicable except for exporting to legacy documents.

Other things you mentioned such as "callout, sections, Interior and Exterior elevation markers..." are graphics standards carried over from the hand drafting days.  From my experience working with several institutions, they do not include graphic standards with BIM standards, but as separate document graphic requirements.  More often than not it is exactly the same as CAD graphics standards.  It makes sense because there are projects entirely model base, very little to no construction documents involved.

For model elements, there are LODs (level of development) to control the level of model geometry and data at each state of project development.  They do not care or control how you create a number of sub-categories or how you name them etc...  Those are office BIM standards or even personal choices.

Thanks.  I kind of expected this and understand totally.  I'm developing a Revit template as a standard to show clients that want to create their own templates.  I was hoping to hit some sort of standard or middle ground, so that if the client was interested they could just purchase the one I have already developed.  There are always going to be things that need to be specific and I think it was put it properly when you said some are just personal preferences.
