Interior Elevation Tag

I know this is going to be embarrassing to ask this question: All the interior elevations tags are too big for most architectural drawing as they are at 1/8" scale. Does Autodesk think we all use 1/4" plans?  So how do I modify these tags so they will work with small scaled plans?

thanks

David

Yes the OOTB tag is really big.  You can always edit the family and make it smaller.

Normally interior elevation tags are used in larger plans - we use them on nothing smaller than 1/4" plans. That may be a useful strategy.

Thank you for your rely. I too are using elevation tag on a 1/4" scale drawing, but when you have a 8x8 toilet they are still too big. So, I tried to edit these Tags but they don't seem to want to be edited. I have not a clue.

DO you have CAD standards that you would need to comply with? I would be compliant with those.

Look in your Project Browser under Families for Annotation. You should be able to find your elevation bubble family. Right click on the family, click Edit, and when the Family Editor opens, save it with a different name.

Edit the family, then load it into your project.

Then click Manage>>Additional Settings>>Elevation tags. Hit Duplicate to create a new type, give it an individual name. When you go in to drop an interior elevation, you should be able to select the type for your interior tags.

I modified an existing family and renamed it

the 2 parts that make up the body and the pointer

I  reduced all values to half the original size

save these locally for testing

the text size may be the tricky part (this example it is 5/64 and 3/64 height

this is done in Revit 2014 so feel free to update as needed

open them and see how they are put together and make the adjustments to the geometry

Dave, please make sure when you load the differently name family into your model, go right in a plan where you will be using this interior elevation mark and click it then edit, duplicate and name it something else, and there you can use the pulldown and select the one you just created. If you don't do it this way, every one of the elevation marks in the entire job will update to this new creation. The way I told you to do it will give you 2 separate ones to choose from giving you an option. Revit makes you go through these extra steps because I think they really don't want you editing the system familes. Just be sure every time you try and place one of these you're cognizant of which one is named in you're browser.
