Insulation hatch pattern

I've created an insulation hatch pattern with pyRevit. The problem is that is doesn't align at the begging of my insulation wall layer. What can I do ? I've select the option "align to element", and I've dimensioned the size of the motif (pattern) accordingly to the insulation thickness.

Out of curiosity, why not just use the insulation tool that Revit has?

In the company, they use a different BIM software, and I'm in the process of introducing Revit. They prefer to maintain the graphics in a manner consistent with what they're used to.

I totally agree with @Tom_Kunsman on this one. Use the in-built Insulation tool on the Annotation Tab. It couldn't be any simpler.  Why re-invent the wheel?

BTW, I wouldn't add the batt pattern to the Material Graphics. Is that what you are thinking of doing?

Another issue making the insulation a hatch is that cut patterns can only be drafting patterns (not model patterns) and drafting patterns will stay the same scale on a sheet no matter what the view scale is and thus if your scale is 1:100 it might look fine but if your view is 1:75 or 1:50 the insulation scale will remain the same so it would look like 2 layers of insulation at 1:50.

This means you would need a different scaled hatch for every view scale.

As others have said the insulation tool is the best and easiest way to accomplish your task.

Adding batt insulation hatch as a cut pattern to materials is a losing battle.  It will fail one way or another.  Sorry to sound unencouraging, but it is so you won't be wasting time trying to make it work.
