Instance parameters not showing in project

Hi,

Can someone help me with family parameters.

I am trying to create a slab edge with instance parameters and they're not showing up in the project properties box when I click no the slab edge.

Any solutions?

Slab edges are not families that we can create. it's a system family that works with a profile. You can create the profile family for the slab edge. Those profile families need to have have parameters defined by type, not by instance.

Hi Alfredo,

Why is it that the slab edges cannot be manipulated in this way? Seems like a logical thing that should be achievable, considering that not all sites are flat and it is common practice to have footing depths vary on sloping sites.

Looking through previous forums, it seems to be a common problem from years ago that Autodesk still haven't looked into. Any reason why?

Hi, @mike

I don't see this as a problem or limitation. Suppose you have a parametric profile family for a slab edge. In the Project Browser, you will see this profile on the list of families. You can create a new type by selecting one type and using "Duplicate" and that will give you access to all the type parameters that you have in the profile family. By doing this, you can create as many variations of this same profile family as you need for the project.
