installing revit 2016 onto existing windows 10, averting the issues

This year I could have 20-30 new students with new laptops running indows 10. I am getting somewhat nervous considering what I am reading about the compatability.

my understanding is this.

that article mentions Microsft recommends the uninstall of .NET 4.6, then installing autodesk product, then reinstalling .NET 4.6. (yeah?, where from?)

Now, I also hear people having problems actually doing the uninstall of .NET 4.6. Imagine me trying to take 20-30 students through this maze  of possible solutions without actually having one or more of them killing the OS. I am no IT expert.

I need a one stop fix either from Autodesk or Microsoft.

I am puzzled, actually aghast, why this problem is not receiving some major response from Autodesk, considering all new laptops come with Windows 10. I imagine a tsunami on the horizon.

Is there a .exe fix out there, or patch or update that addresses this easily, so that your average mum and dad and 20 year old student can safely undertake it? And I can get on with teaching them a brilliant program?

regards

Peter

no there is no magic button from Autodesk or Microsoft

all 2016 products and below came out before Windows 10 did

Microsoft is the one forcing Windows 10 down everybodys throat

Autodesk has no control of when Microsoft releases any security updates or new features with windows 10 that may break something with their product or any non Autodesk products

.net 4.6 comes from Microsoft website

thanks Ryan,

what .NET would they need to revert back to for revit, before reinstalling 4.6?

Revit 2016 should install just fine on Windows 10 Pro.

You should be an administrator when installing, disable the UAC, and right click and Run as Adminstrator.

After installation, install service packs 1 and 2. (I'm not sure if SP1 is a prerequisite for SP2 or not)

Excellent, will pass it on.

thank you

I installed the student version over christmas, and from checking the build numbers it appears both updates came down with it
