Inserting Drafting Views from Content Catalog

Just recently started using content catalog in R24, now R25. I've loaded in a bunch of families and drafting view details that our team regularly use. I've inserted families from the catalog many times now and it's been a great help. However, today is the first time I've tried to load in a drafting view detail and I'm unsure if it's working the way it's supposed to. Here's my workflow,
1. With one revit project open I go to insert and open the content catalog ap.

2. Navigate to my details folder and click insert on one of my detail views.

3. The detail drafting view then opens in a separate project file (like it would if you just opened from local server)

this is where I'm confused..

If the drafting view does not in fact "insert" into the active project then the only way for me to get it into the active project is to insert from file, correct? And if that's true then this defeats the entire purpose of the program since now I must insert>save locally>insert again. I'm better off just managing a local library than using the catalog.

Am I missing something in this workflow or have the developers really just missed this critical function?

Currently, Content Catalog retrieves the source RVT; it does not place a drafting view into the active project like an RFA. From the target project, use Insert > Insert Views from File and select that RVT. That extra Revit import step is currently required. Hope this helps. If it solves the issue, you’re welcome to mark it as a solution so others can find it more easily.

What @AEC_Revit_Lab said is sort of correct.   What content catalog is doing is opening the view as a project (that's basically how it's saved in the background of Content Catalog) and then it does the insert from there into your project automatically, and then closes the other project automatically.  If it is not doing that, something is going wrong.  Issue a support ticket.  You should not need to manually do the Insert > Insert Views from File thing at all.   You are absolutely correct, that would totally negate that functionality and make it not worth it!   @AEC_Revit_Lab, if this is currently happening to you as well,  I highly recommend a support ticket from you also, because that is not supposed to be happening.
