Insert Profile as a Fabrication element

Hi Everybody!
I'm still here trying to fix my usual problem.
I would like to create a family line based which has to have the behavior as an element of FabricationDuct. I try to explain better myself:

- when i draw the line of the profile this has to be continuous untill a certain length (maximum overall length) is reached, then a new profile of the same line has to start from the ending of the first profile and so on until the required length... understand?!

- naturally when i draw a profile longer than the limit, the connector has to appear between the two profiles

Any suggestion?!?

Wonderful!

Just with a little modification:

In the Non_array Module I have changed the condition Length = 6500 mm with Length > 6000 mm in order to solve any case between 6000 mm and 6500mm !! Because with a Length in that range the composition of the family was incorrect! 😉

But It's a great work though!!!
Many thanks for the help!!!

If it were to be one piece with splitting lines and connectors of the same configuration, it would be way easier.

What do you mean with same configuration? And having different objects nistead one piece splitted is useful for the bill of qantities.. don't you think?

Last question about the family.. why did you create a separate array for the connectors?

Same rule about 6000 typical module, or 5500 when length less than a certain dimension.  The quantity can be take care of by formula easily.  The only thing more useful about actually model it as a pieces is if you bring the file directly to CAM machine to manufacture the pieces.

Because when the Length is a multiple of 6000, the number of connectors is 1 less than the number of pipes.  Look at the screenshot I posted.

You know.. It is not just a quantity problem. I have to know where the joint is, to solve the interferences... for the composition of the system...

And actually the solution is not a 100% solution. With the modification I made (In the Non_array Module I have changed the condition Length = 6500 mm with Length > 6000 mm ) I have solved the problem of the Length only when it is close to 6m... but not for the multiple.. what if L=12,1m or 18,1m....

I tryed to play with the Make_up value..

Non Array Module = if(Length > 6000 mm, if(Make_up > 500 mm, Typ Module, if(Make_up = 0 mm, Length, 5500 mm)), Length)

but it's a mess..... any suggestion? Smiley Sad

I did it! I've inserted the possibility to define the position of the first joint. And it works, but not always.
There are some cases that the length of something is zero and I get an error message: can't create type....

Can somebody see where the logic error is?

Here I come again... 😞

I thought I had solved my problems... but.. I didn't...

Using the family in a project with a very long beam framing, I realized that the family I've created doesn't work for a type (with the profile 72mm higth) for certain length (between 25m/30m and between 36m/42m). I just cant't find where is the problem...

With another profile (41mm higth) it works. The logic and the parameters are always the same... It should be just a matter of repetition of modules with a serie... Smiley Frustrated Smiley Frustrated Smiley Frustrated

I'm getting crazy ... please heeeelp me!!
