inconsistent units when calulating area

Hello I have seen this issue come up a lot on forums but I cant get my head round working out an area for a purge calculation. All I want to do is get an area from some lengths but I get the dreaded message. I understand I need to converted the length to a meters squared? I attached family and screen shot.

Your Purge Ventilation is a Number Parameter, delete it and create an Area parameter.

I was wrong... where is the Purge Ventilation parameter in your family?

At first, I thought that you created a number parameter (4.000), then I noticed that the default unit for Area is n.000 as well...

But if I create an Area Parameter and it works just fine.

Sounds like you need a Neutralizer.    Divide by (/) or Multiply by (*) will generally work.

Here's some more information on the subject to keep handy:
