Inconsistent CAD V/G overrides in template

Anonymous
Not applicable

Working on an 8 floor tower on a steeply sloped site and we're using a linked civil cad file as a base background. Managing layer visibility through view templates, I am having inconsistent results with CAD layer control - linestyles, weights, and colors. Half my floor plans show them per the template overrides, the other half show them solid black. All views are using the same template, and no underlays are being used. View range "view depth" is set to unlimited through the template so all views are looking far enough down to see this CAD file. No instance based overrides have been performed. Any ideas?

Hi..

1. Try to link the CAD file using " Current View Only " Option.

2. Using Current view, you dont need to change the view range to capture 3D imported CAD.

3. Applying view template : there are two ways, one is apply but not permanently, second is permanent

so that it shows in " View Template " Properties... make sure you are applying permanently..

view Template - 1.JPGview Template - 1.JPG

you should get the results you are looking for by now, you

can choose not to select ( exclude ) few options in view template if they vary from

views to views. like 1. View range, 2. Scale etc..

View template setting - overide imports ( DWG ) hereView template setting - overide imports ( DWG ) here

Best luck
