In-Place Mass Crashing Render

Why does my render crash when using In-Place Mass? (the two transparent, grey objects in the background are the in-place masses)

Interesting hypothesis. How did you determine it was the In-Place's fault?  I've Rendered many many Views having In-Place components without issue.   What are the In Place's Material Appearance properties (i.e. Asset, Image, etc.)?  And, what version of Revit are you using? 

..Sorry. I mis-read. I've never Rendered a Mass. Still, I would be curious to know if they would accept a Rendering Material.

Yep. I can Render Masses without crashing.  Which brings me back to my original question: how did the OP figure is was the Masses that were causing the Crashing.  Was there an Error thrown up?

I rendered without the In-Place Mass turned on and it worked fine. I believe the issue is I either improperly imported the masses or messed up their material appearance properties. 

I am using Revit 2018. 

I tried using an earlier version of my project and it seemed to have fixed the problem.

I fixed the problem by using an earlier version of my project. The issue was that I either improperly imported the masses or messed up their material properties.

Imported? Is it an In-Place Mass built from imported geometry?

Thanks. I will try this. I believe the issue was material related or the way I imported the masses. I'm currently using an earlier version of my project and it seemed to have fixed the problem.

Yes, "Import CAD" (ACIS file).

Might have been rectified by an Audit of the other file.  FWIW.
