importing obj file in Revit

Hi everyone,

I have a building 3D model in obj Format, can somebody tell me how can I open this obj file in Revit?  and if Revit knows it as one object or I can be able to explode it to the components which are recognizable for Revit? (doors, windows,...)

Thanks

Pegah

Revit cannot import OBJ format directly.  You need one of the programs that can import OBJ such as Rhino, 3ds Max, Inventor, etc... Then export it to one of the format suitable for Revit to import such as DWG, SAT, 3DM.

In addition to @ToanDN the object will be a single static object. Revit will not recognize objects (e.g doors, windows, walls).

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

Hi, thanks for the reply. But how can I import objects with materials and textures? Like obj and mtl has. A sat will reduce the object to a plain colored object.
