Importing 2D AutoCAD DWGs into Revit

I was wondering if there was a more efficient method of converting a 2D DWG file into a Revit Drafting view that maintains lineweights, hatching scale and other properties?

The only method I am aware of is by linking the DWG and then tracing and drawing over it with the filled region tool to mimic the hatches and lineweights (and then deleting the DWG from the view). Is there a technique where you could insert the DWG file and it would be as is, in Revit, whilst being able to edit it?

Yes, but you need to overrides their weights and colors thru VG per view, but you can create a view template to apply per views.. Thanks

The results from an import usually need some editing. If it is a one off that won't be used again, you can import and adjust but if it is something for a detail library, I would suggest making everything into native Revit elements.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
