Hi Folks,
Here's what is happening:
I am not really familiar with assembling a type table but I have used them in the past so I know what they are supposed to do.
- I downloaded a Revit Family from a manufacturer into a zip file, extracted both files to our local directory and then tried to open the family. The family upgraded (from 2012) and opened but the type table did not come up.
- I went to the Manage Table button in the family editor and that was when I realized it was a txt file (since it was not an option for import) so I opened the txt in Excel and converted it to a csv (comma delimited) file, imported this into the family and tried again - Still no luck.
- I recalled using the family successfully before so I tried opening it from an older file but it, too, has a txt table and does not provide the type table.
Note: both files have the exact same name except for the extensions. I have attached the txt file in case it helps.
I have 2 questions:
*What else can I try?
*When did they stop accepting txt files because when I look back at our older families a lot of them have txt files for the lookup tables so I imagine txt was once a compatible format?
