Imported file become an intelligent family

I am wanting to take a railing that I designed in Autodesk Inventor and import it into Revit. I know the workflow for this, but I was curious if there was a way to make this imported file an intelligent family so I can say how long I want the railing system to be, how high, the amount of balasters, etc. Just like the railings that are already loaded into Revit, but I want to use my own. Please let me know if there is any way this can be done.

How does it look? Can it be done directly in Revit?

Can you share the inventor file? Is this something which has a feature that cannot be created inside Revit and made parametric?
