Import or link Static column text from CAD to Revit

Hi,

I'm trying to build exact general notes sheets that we have in our CAD sets in Revit.

In the CAD file the texts are formatted as static columns. I've tried importing, linking the CAD file and copy pasting the text. All of them result with one whole text box with no columns.

Is there anyway to divide the text into columns or transfer the text from CAD the exact text format?

Thanks!

One option is to create a new Legend View for each note block and in each one (ie each legend view) have the correct number of Revit text blocks you need- 1 for each column. You can then paste these Legends onto as many Sheets as you need to

Kind regards,
Ian

No, Revit does not do columns in the text editor. You will need to do some editing before or after pasting the text.

non-solutions for buggy text handling, a feature that should have been addressed years ago. Even if there was a really good reason why Revit couldn't implement text columns natively, there's really no reason for it to break the columnized text of a linked DWG file. That's just bad software.
