Import Archicad models into Revit & vice versa

I was trying to import the Archicad models especially products of bathroom & kitchen as taps, baths, vanities,shower taps/mixtures and many more I tried using IFC format but its not loading in Revit ,Is  there any short cut or any solution to import those in Revit and vice versa to make easy work flow without an error?

Did you try Linking the IFC into Revit?

Yes I did, and it took like an hour to load resulting the Revit file empty you can see i wanted to import those vanities but you can see the results

Did you try the Geometry Exchange Plugin in archicad? it should allow you to export to Revit as non-editable object/geometry

I just noticed what you are exporting... It sounds more like you want to create families. If the plug in above is a no go for you, you can use one of the following

• Export from Archicad to STL or DWG and import that into a Revit Family or an Inplace Component

• If you want to preserve textures: Export from Archicad as FBX format >>> Open/Save as Formit >>> In Revit you can import as formit or use plug in to place in in a Family or an In place component

Hello

When you link an IFC data to Revit, you should chose a correct template file type.

For example, when you want to link an IFC of MEP you should chose "Mechanical template", if don't you will not see all object in Revit. You have to set graphics visibility again to see all of it.

Yes , Thank You, the process worked but in appears in MEP not in architectural template if I do so then it appears grey with no any textures and also is there any alternative where I can import IFC to architectural template and also when i import everything it doesn't allow to change its dimension and manipulate the materials

You can see these two pioctures which I tried in MEP and Architectural template, beside it I even tried changing directly through materials option also through paint but nothing worked any solution for it?

Hello

Of course when you import from IFC, it's an IFC object, not a family in Revit, so you cannot using the dimension parameter. About the color you can change it by using filter as following:

1) Put the IFC in the same folder.

2) Open Revit with possible to see the object which you want to import(MEP, ARC, STR...)

3) Insert the IFC to Revit, the parameter in ArchiCAD will so in TXT in the same folder(don't care this)

4) When the IFC was imported into Revit, click to object you will see, there are some IFCparamter appears 

5) Using that IFCparamater which you want to filter it by your colors.

I don't know what we're looking at, but if that's an IFC Opened in Revit, then select IFC Element and press Edit in-Place to edit Element's Material. If that's an IFC Link, then you need to Open the IFC with a Template.  The Template that Revit uses to open an IFC is defined under File=>Open=>IFC Options.
