Import 3D AutoCAD Survey into Revit

Hi, I am supposed to be creating a Revit model from a recent topographical survey with floor plans and elevations. I have loaded the survey in multiple ways (Link Cad and Import Cad) but the levels from the survey aren't coming through onto Revit and are showing flat despite having levels from AutoCAD.

1. Import CAD in Revit..

link or import, but make sure

a. its visible in 3D view..

b. and Contours are showing..

c. imported in correct scale as per project... else fix that first..

( if you import using, " Current view only " option, then it won't work..)

For Ex" Contours are in LAYER-CONTOURS... ( it can be Major Contours , Minor Contours etc )

2. Massing & Site -- Toposurface --Create from ImportMassing & Site -- Toposurface --Create from Import

3. After selecting the Imported CAD... make sure you " CHECK " only layer / layers which contains

Contours..ex "LAYER-CONTOURS"

4. that's it.. that should give a topo surface following those imported cad contour layers...

Pls note... creating topography using CAD doesn't create correct level in the REVIT..

Revit levels are independent of imported CAD..you still have to fix the Revit Levels as per design.
