IFC file: not visible in Revit, but visible on other platforms

Dear all,

I have an .IFC file of a structural model, exported from CADwork software (from a project partner).

When opening in BIM docs, it is visible.

In Revit however, there is nothing:

- there is no view template

- all model categories are turned on in visibility options in the Graphics section

- checked hidden elements

- checked all disciplines in Graphics options

- checked different phases

- no section box

anyone any idea?

The strange thing is that, when trying to add this file as an ifc link to the central model, in the dialog box of Manage Links there is nothing happening.

So, after adding this IFC, it's not showing up in the list...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Joris

There might be different reasons for this. But, first, you might want to use Revit to open the IFC file. (do not import it). See if there is anything on the IFC file.

I can't open this file.

I can dubbelclick on it in the dialogbox, then the dialog closes but nothing happens in Revit...

I don't get the statement "I dubleclick".  Did you use the path shown on my screen shot?

Yes exactly. Then I selected the file and clicked on open.

How big is this IFC file? Can you post it?

It seems that today some things don't want to work. The upload of my attachment is not working.

Hope to solve this soon.
