Hi,
There is an issue with IFC export.
When I try to export IFC file with the option "Export user-defined property set" enabled, 2021 does not even try to export IFC, whereas in 2020, the same file, same options, exports successfully.

Hi @Anonymous
Official article here:
IFC not exported with the option "Export user-defined property set" enabled from Revit 2021

And what, if I need my user defined Psets?
How do I get them?
This is not a workaround. Because with a workaround I would get what I want and had before, just in another way.
Hi @Anonymous
I am afraid we have to wait for fix.
I am sorry.

Also, there is another situation about 2021 IFC Export.
When I export a file by using Revit 2020, it takes 17 seconds to export, whereas by using Revit 2021, it takes 3 minutes 26 seconds (same file, same IFC export setup-IFC 2x3 CV2 standard setup). I tried using different projects, also different computers. Revit 2021 IFC export extremely taking longer time in any situation. (Another project and computer, 4 times slower) (another project Revit 2020 Export time: 52seconds, Revit 2021 export time: 11minutes 3 seconds)
Thanks for pointing out.
I didn't come that far, since I need my UDP.....
As always: upgrade for production only after spring update.....
BTW: colleague reported, Dynamo seems to be faster in 2021.... but not validated yet
Any news here?
We are facing the same problem and we are desperate in need of a solution
Hello all, there is a workaround for this. There is a missing DLL in the Revit 2021 install (which will clearly be fixed in an upcoming update). In the meantime, you can do the following: Get IFC 2020 from the App Store and install it. When you do (or if you already have it), search for GeometryGymIFC.DLL on your computer. Copy/paste it into the Program directory for Revit 2021. This will get the option to work.
I apologize for missing this in the install, and the open source update will also fix this problem.

Thank you, dear Angel,
This workaround solved both problems:
I can't find it on my computer. Can You attach this dll here ?
Regards,
Milann
I believe we are preparing better notes for what to do - I am unsure if we can just post the DLL here. Here is the preview, though:
Please try that.

Hi Angel,
I'm experiencing the same issues as reported in this thread.
I've tried the fix as you've outlined but I'm still getting the same results (i.e. my shared parameter mappings are not exporting when this was previously the case in Revit 2017)
I'm currently using Revit 2021.1.2 and I've tried installing all the Revit 2021 updates / hot fixes.
Can you recommend any further workarounds?
Many thanks.
Can you verify that the missing GeometryGymIFC.dll file is in your C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit 2021 folder?

Hi Angel,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Yes, I followed the procedure as outlined in your message and officially here:
I downloaded the IFC Exporter 2020 and copied the GeometryGymIFC.dll from there and pasted it to
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit 2021
I wasn't sure whether I sure paste it there or here so I copied the file to both locations:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\IFC 2021.bundle\Contents\2021
OK, it is possible that there is something that was not fully supported that no longer works. Can you include a trivial Revit file and your shared parameters file so we can investigate?

Hi Angel,
Please find attached.
I've added shared parameters to my project and then mapped these parameters in the txt file.
However, I'm having difficulty getting these parameters to export to my IFC file.
If you had any ideas on how I could resolve this issue, that would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
