I want to export a high Poly STL model for 3d printing

I've been using STL Exporter 2017 for my Revit 2017 and when I export it any round objects gets reduced to low poly facets which I understand is the nature of STLs except if don't in high enough resolution it shouldn't matter.

thanks in advance

Hi @Anonymous

You can try a common file format that can be an intermediate between the STL import to Revit.

Currently, Revit can import dwg, dxf, ifc, sat, skp and dgn.

We have converters that convert STL to DWG and then you can link/import the dwg in Revit. Alternatively, you can convert the STL to a solid file using Inventor, then follow the inventor to Revit workflow.

Let me know if this helps resolve your issue.

I found that OBJ Exporter works fantastically well and does the job exporting high resolution shapes

Thanks for getting back @Anonymous

For the community seeking similar answers, The OBJ exporter can be downloaded from the Autodesk App store.
